U.S. Government Honors Precision Discovery Computer Forensics Expert For Service

February 25, 2009 (New York, NY) - Bruce W. Pixley, Vice President of Computer Forensics at Precision Discovery was recently recognized by U.S. government officials for providing outstanding computer forensics services.

Most recently, Pixley was recognized at the U.S. Attorney's Office Ninth Annual Law Enforcement Awards Ceremony for distinguished service as a computer forensic expert. Thomas P. O'Brian, United States Attorney for the California District, presented Pixley with the award. Pixley was honored for his integrity, commitment and service to the people of the United States.

Additionally, The Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Office of Investigations also recently honored Pixley for his role in the successful prosecution of a U.S. citizen charged with criminal acts abroad. As the lead forensic examiner in this case, Pixley recovered hundreds of digital photographs that the defendant attempted to destroy. Pixley provided expert testimony in federal court related to his investigation, which was used to corroborate the victims' testimony against the defendant.

For more than two decades, Pixley has specialized in high-tech investigations and law enforcement. He has performed computer forensic investigations for civil, criminal, regulatory and corporate internal matters involving a broad range of issues. Pixley is credited with creating and implementing the first high-tech crime unit and computer forensics lab for the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department.
