Precision Discovery Expert Discusses Computer Forensic Investigations On International Television Program

Ruiz Provides Insight Into High-Tech Investigations On Univision Television

March 12, 2009 (New York, NY) - John Ruiz, a Manager of Computer Forensics at Precision Discovery recently appeared on Aqui Y Ahora, Univision Television's Emmy-nominated primetime news program. On the program, Ruiz discussed what type of evidence can be found on a computer and how such evidence could be used to help solve an investigation. He also talked about the hardware and software required to perform forensic examinations of computers.

Ruiz works with clients to plan, coordinate and conduct computer forensic investigations and collections to uncover wrongdoing as well as retrieve evidence vital in resolving legal, regulatory and internal matters. During a distinguished career with the New York Police Department that spanned nearly two decades, Ruiz served both as a detective and a member of the Computer Crimes Squad. In this role, he examined and investigated computer-related crimes involving network intrusion, internal espionage and vandalism of computer network systems as well as tracked criminals via their IP addresses and emails. Ruiz was the 2004 recipient of the International High Technology Crime Investigators Association's Case of the Year Award.
