Silicon Valley Becomes Newest Chapter of the Association of Litigation Support Professionals
Silicon Valley, CA (May 28, 2009) - Silicon Valley recently became the host area for the newest regional chapter of the Association of Litigation Support Professionals (ALSP). The Silicon Valley Chapter's Steering Committee is focused on developing a local chapter that will become a valuable resource for litigation support professionals in the area.
"I am excited about the formation of the ASLP's Silicon Valley Chapter. This will be a great forum to share ideas on topics that affect our profession," said Napoleon Cruz, National Litigation Support Director at McDermott Will & Emery.
"Companies are constantly faced with evolving sources and increasing amounts of in-house data and file types, which require collection and processing. The formation of a Silicon Valley Chapter will serve as an excellent forum to share experiences across the different areas of our profession," said Edward Wiitala, Manager, Legal Operations at Genentech, Inc.
" I am honored to be a part of the Silicon Valley Chapter of ALSP," said Marnie Carter, Paralegal Supervisor, Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. "As a manager and educator of legal professionals, I am cognizant of the constant struggle to keep up to speed with advancing technology and being in a position to leverage that technology for the benefit of clients. Clients are demanding that the work product be handled more efficiently and with increased productivity. The legal community is striving to meet these demands by maximizing the use of technology with a recognition of the current climate of cost pressure. The need and opportunity to collaborate with others to achieve the best result can make the difference in addressing these concerns."
" I am thrilled to be a part of establishing an ALSP chapter for Silicon Valley," said Heidi Amaniera, Senior Project Manager at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP. "It will be great to collaborate with others in our field."
